Throughout my changing life; from expiramenting and dabbling in different lifestyles and subcultures to today's fairly mundane and banal existence, I have had one particular song stuck in my head.

It is a song that looks toward the future.

Although things appear beautiful now, there is still much hatred in the world.

I'm going to change that. Me, and my generation.

In the future, everything will be peaceful and filled with more beauty than you can possibly imagine.

Unfortunately, this favorite song of mine is sung by Nazi Germans in the musical, Cabaret.

Does it make it any less beautiful that a song is supposed to represent the ideals of a group of people led by a tyrant who believed in something viewed as evil today?

(BTW: this is a song written for the musical play and movie, it wasn't a real song sung by Nazis.)
