Working at the hospital, and taking care of mostly people from the E.R., I kept asking myself why some of these people weren't going to their regular doctors. They were coming into the E.R. for minor minor things... smoker's cough, runny nose, generic aches and pains that are a part of growing older, etc.
Now that I'm working in a clinical environment, I'm seeing patients who I'm thinking, why didn't this person go to the E.R.
So I guess it works both ways... people who should be going to the E.R. are seeing their regular doctors first, and people who should see their regular doctor are going to the E.R.
