When my sister and I were still living at home, we had about 4 or 5 kittens that were only about 3 months old. My sister also owned a Llhasa Apso.
One day, my sister had just gone off to school with her friends.
The furry black kitten was running around the house, as kittens do, jumping and playing.
Something happened, and Maddy (the dog) whipped around, grabbed the kitten by the head and broke its neck, killing it instantly.
Now, knowing that animals are stupid creatures and just react on instinct, there was nothing I could really do, but I so wanted to strangle that little dog, ever so slowly.
I keep thinking back -- that kitten was purring and jumping and playing one second, and the next instant it was dead.
When my sister got pregnant, we knew that the Llhasa would be a danger to a new baby in the house (after killing two more adult cats a year later, this was a no-brainer). She was just too jealous of a dog.
Little dogs like Llhasas don't go too well to new owners, so we decided that the only thing we could do was put Maddy down. And because my sister couldn't do it, I did.
I had a little twinge of revenge and relief, but also realized it wasn't really the dog's fault, she doesn't know any better, and would have done the same thing out in the wild (I don't think there is a such thing as a pure-bred Llhasa Apso in the wild, but you know what I mean.).
So any way, I don't know why I thought of that again...
