So in work news: Because of my situation (age + time of employment < 50) I had to sign up for a 403b retirement plan (no big deal, I was going to anyway). So, now I have 10 per cent of my check going into 401k, and 6 per cent going into a 403b. 6% was the minimum for any employer match to take place.
My check will appear to be a little smaller, but nothing I still can't handle. And although I still feel that I'm too young to worry about retirement (you're never too young!), at least I know I've got a good base already, and it'll just be easier to build on it now than later.
