I will still have to continue using my Win 98 computer until I get things fixed.
My main XP crashes hard about 5 minutes after I reboot, and the only way to get it to restart is to unplug it, plug it back in, and turn it on.
What's worse is that it has done something to the router or screwed up the network in such a way that neither one of my XP computers can connect. Just this Windows 98 computer.
My laptop (the second XP) runs fine, but it won't connect to the router/internet either.
I've tried everything that I can think of... even re-installed XP... no good. The one thing I haven't done is check for other viruses.
I'm starting to make back-ups of all my pictures to disc so I don't lose those. I'll be putting other programs on CD as well.
Just precautions in case it has anything to do with the hard-drive (which I doubt).
I just don't understand how problems on one computer can keep another one from connecting to the network.
Maybe I just need a new computer... this one is 3 years old or so, after all.
