Dear anti-war activists,
The U.S. is not going after Iraq for oil. We simply want to get Saddam Hussein out of power.
Dear pro-war enthusiasts,
Don't go after Iraq for oil. Just rid Iraq of Saddam Hussein in power.

We have plenty of oil. We still have countless gallons in Alaska which has still not been tapped. Remember the Alaska pipeline? It is still not in use. Texas and other states still have a large reserve which can last us for years. Of course, an alternative to needing that oil is to tap the energies from the water, air, and sun.

I do believe that our policy of ridding Iraq of any alleged weapons of mass destruction is flawed. I want to know which it is. Is it we want to make sure they are like 7-up, never had 'em, never will? Or do we want to sever the alliance between Iraq and terrorist groups, including Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda?

Everyone in the nation of The United States has the ability to form their own beliefs, opinions, ideas, and thougts. Those who are anti-war are certainly allowed to express those ideas. And those who are for it can certainly do the same. This is what makes the U.S. what it is. But each individual also has the right not to be persecuted for having such beliefs which may be counter to another individual's. You can certainly state your arguments against another person's, but attacking the person is not the best course of action.

Attack ideas, not people.

With that above statement in mind, when I say get rid of Saddam Hussein, I don't necessarily approve of death. Although, considering current world events, that may be what ends up happening.

Dear Germany, one of our closest allies since WWII,
now is the time to remember Hitler. You can, arguably, state that Saddam Hussein is the Arab version. Take a glimpse into the terrors he has caused his own people, in the name of testing biological and chemical weapons.
But it seems you would rather place this analogy onto our own President. Please remember, our President doesn't have nearly the power as you may think he does. He must consult with a wide variety of advisors and staff before taking action. He cannot declare war. Only our Senate can do that. No matter what you may believe, remember that.

Dear France,
we saved your asses during WWII.
From the time I was a small boy, all I have ever heard was how strongly the French disliked Americans. We're too arrogant. We're too snobbish. We're too fat.
You have an alliance with Iraq for its oil. You share this same alliance as does Russia. And you believe our only concern is oil. I'll grant you one thing, the UN agreement states that the loser during war has to pay the winner wartime costs, and as such, we can rightfully claim their oil. But remember what they did in 1991 when we drove them out of Kuwait? They set their own oil fields ablaze. Obviously, they feel they can survive without it.

Dear Russia,
poor poor Russia. I mean that literally.
You are still too poor to be against a war if it comes to that. We want you to continue to help us in the building of an international space station, but with your limited funds, it is hard for you to contribute much.
If we go to war, and you were on your side, just think of the share of that oil you could have without cost. You're still paying for it. Why not have it for free.
That would help your financial situation a bit, I'd think.
With the amount of reserves America has, I don't see why we couldn't allow you to have quite a bit, in fact.

Dear England/GB,
why exactly are you on our side?
Are you afraid that something could befall you if you too were against us? Quite a bit of the rest of Europe does, it seems.

Dear America,
I believe it is now time to decide what we really want. The name of our country is The United States of America. The word united means togetherness. Yet, we are splitting ourselves apart. We must re-join ourselves together, one way or another. Remember United We Stand, Devided We Fall? Think about what that is saying. Devided, we fall. Split apart, we will crumble. We can keep our dignity and our national self esteem by not going to war. This is not Vietnam.

Personally, if it comes down to it, I'll take my guns out of their cases, clean them up, and fight. Although I am no pessimist, I do believe that events are spiraling in an out-of-control manner which will make this war a bad decision. We can use a good war, and we need a good war. But this will not be one.
But you won't find me at any peace demonstrations.
