I also got one of those USB splitters. I ran out of USB ports.
It says it adds 4 more USB ports. But that's not correct. It has to connect to an existing one. True, it splits that one into four, but that's still only a net gain of three.
I'll put all the camera stuff on the splitter, as I can only use one at a time, anyway. I hate having to unplug one and plug in another, because then you have to switch drivers.
This way, I don't have to keep unplugging and plugging. They can all stay plugged in all the time.
Then I need to hook up the new scanner.
I was going for the cheapest one, because it only needs to replace the one that died. I already have quite a few images scanned. Some I want to scan over at a higher resolution. Some I just never got the chance to scan.
But instead of getting the absolute cheapest, I decided to get one that scans negatives, too. I have a lot of negatives which I don't have the prints to anymore. So I thought it'd be nice to be able to see those again.
So, instead of 40 bucks for a scanner, I paid 70. But, there's a 10 dollar rebate that I can mail in.
I still haven't connected it. I just don't feel like it right now. Maybe tonight after work... or tomorrow... or this weekend...
