I went out and bought myself a digital video camera.
I stayed with Sony. I can use the same memory chips for the video camera as I can for my regular digital camera.
But I forgot to buy the cable for the firewire connection. I can live without it for now, as I can still hook the video camera to one of my USB ports... but the whole reason I bought a computer with a firewire was to hook a video camera up that way to transfer data more quickly.
I'll wait until either Sunday or Monday to go out and get that cable.
But I'm happy. I finally got the video camera that I've been wanting for months.
I'm going to be making short movies. I've got a couple of scripts in my head... just got to write them down and start filming.
If I go to Love Affair this month, I'll probably take that and film people dancing. You never know, I might be able to incorporate that into a movie of some kind.

Did you know that today (well, Friday, as it technically is Saturday now) was the day that tickets went on sale for Attack of the Clones?!
I had to work.
So, you think I'm going to be able to get any advance tickets?
Highly doubtful.
Well, I'll just have to go to all the matinee shows on Thursday.

Been out on the boat all afternoon... just walked in the door a few minutes ago.
Need to take a shower, then I'm probably going to go see Spiderman.
Boat people are so nice. Why is that?
Do we all share something in common?
a) we're all rich enough to afford a boat to play on the water
b) we all just love playing on the water
c) we all just love boats
d) we're all trying to see if women are riding around on boats without their tops
I dunno.
I no have a answer to dat one.

I don't know if the events in Nevada made national news last weekend, but I'm going to guess that they did, because something like that had never happened before.
3 bikers were killed during a fight between rival biker "gangs" in a casino last weekend. One of the three killed was from Stockton. He was a bike (as in motorcycle) shop owner and sold motorcycles. He was part of our Hells Angels crowd.
It was expected that the funeral would be huge, there are a lot of bikers here in Stockton, and in the general area, who knew this guy.
The thing I didn't know... today was the funeral.
The thing that I forgot about:
Funeral processions almost always come up my street, as I'm within 2 blocks of 3 different funeral homes. Well, this one didn't exactly come up my street, but it came up parallel by a block. But the police had just about all the roads closed, and there were cars, lots and lots of cars, parked all over the place. It was like a parade.
People lined up on the street from the funeral home all the way to the cemetary to watch/say their farewells/etc to this guy.

Makes it kind of hard to take the boat out when there is car after car going up both sides of the street looking for a place to park and I'm trying to pull out of my parking lot.

Yeah, that's all I cared about with this whole post... how was I going to get the boat out with all these people? hehehe

Don't get me wrong, my sister and I grew up knowing a few Hells Angels, and let me tell you, those are probably some of the most misunderstood people in the country. Everyone thinks of them as bad people, and they aren't. They've got a bad rap, probably because of things like what happened in Nevada last weekend. They are a closer family to each other than any street gang ever could be, and will always fight for one another. They aren't bad people at all... just people who like to ride their bikes.

Well, I was planning on going to the 10:50 showing of Spiderman.
So I got to the theater at 10:10.
There was already a line around the corner for the 11:15 (last) showing, and the 10:50 showing's line was three times as long... and probably sold out, as well.
I think I'll see if there's an early enough matinee that I can go to before I have to go to work.

Just got the neatest compliment... photosexual suggested that someone model for me. He'd like to be the photographer, but he lives in Seattle, and the "model" lives in the Bay Area, just about an hour away from me.
Just that he gave his support made me feel real nice.
